Communication amongst volunteers is an essential part of the Ffestiniog family's way of life. The Ffestiniog Railway Company provides official communication where needed, but most communication is provided by the Ffestiniog Railway Society's two publications: the Magazine for all Society Members, and a separate newsletter for active volunteers.

In addition, many Railway Departments and working groups produce their own newsletters. However, an important aspect of communication that is missed by these publications is the social side of the Railway.

To enable volunteers and society members to discuss matters of relevance to the Railway, and communicate socially whilst away from the Railway, an email discussion list has been set up. This is open to any member of the Ffestiniog Railway Society or regular volunteer.

To join this list, two steps are necessary.

  1. Join the group at http://yahoogroups.com/group/festiniograilway/
  2. Register with the moderator. Society members can register via the Ffestiniog Railway Society's site at www.ffestiniograilway.org.uk

If you have any problems or queries with the above, contact the group moderator, Jim Hewett, by email on festiniograilway-owner@yahoogroups.com.
Further information can be found in the group's guidelines and administrative document.
