Kids' Training Week 2007 will be from Saturday July 28th until Saturday August 4th
It's a week when kids can work on the FR without an accompanying adult. They do a wide variety of jobs such as painting, mixing concrete, gardening, carriage cleaning, etc. They also have a lot of fun, and social events are arranged throughout the week. Most kids come back again and again.
Some of the kids live locally and come in daily, but most are not local. They come from places like Tenterden, Huddersfield, Northants, Chigwell, Southampton and so on. Some stay in Penrhyn Hostel, which we book solely for the kids use apart from (sorry about this kids) a couple of adult volunteers who stay there to make sure all is well. Other kids stay in groups in various homes belonging to volunteers or paid staff who live in the area. Even though we have to use a shoehorn to fit everyone in, anyone booking for Kids' Training Week is found a place to stay and someone to look after them.
